Injured Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) walks the field before the first quarter of the NFL Week 17 game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023.

CINCINATTI — Joe Burrow is back.

The Bengals QB was spotted throwing on Monday for the first time since he underwent wrist surgery.

It’s unlikely that this is the first time Burrow has thrown since undergoing season-ending wrist surgery in late November, but it’s the first time we’ve seen him do so publicly.

Then 25-year-old said earlier this offseason that he’s “confident” he’ll return healthy in 2024 and also added that his rehab “hasn’t really affected” his offseason preparation

It’s a small but significant step for Burrow as he attempts to make his way back from the second season-ending injury in his four-year NFL career.

While he may not officially begin practicing with his teammates until mandatory minicamp begins in June, it’s an encouraging sign to see him back on the field and slinging the ball with little to no difficulty.

“I’m doing the rehab every day. That’s always a part of it. As far as my offseason training, it hasn’t really affected it too much. I’ve been able to pretty much do everything I normally do from a lifting and conditioning standpoint. I’m in a great spot body-wise,” Burrow said in March.

“I’m confident I’ve put all the work in I need to make sure I’m healthy. I’m continuing year to year to better hone that and make that more efficient. Maybe listen to my body a little more throughout the offseason and not push through things that maybe I have in the past. I’m just starting to learn my body more and more.”
