The offensive line has been a huge part of the New York Jets early struggles, and now it gets worse. The Jets announced today that left tackle George Fant will be placed on the injury reserve. Fant will miss at least the next four games after he aggravated his already injured left knee this past Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Jets seemingly can’t catch a break as they now have four left tackles on the injury reserve list. The list includes Mekhi Becton, Duane Brown, Greg Senat, and now George Fant. However, Brown could potentially be reactivated for next week’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Conor McDermott filled in for Fant this past Sunday. “Gang Green” also signed offensive lineman Cedric Ogbuehi to the active roster and offensive lineman Mike Remmers to the practice squad.
With Zach Wilson set to make his return this Sunday against the Pittsburg Steelers, all eyes will be on the Jets retooled offensive line as they look the protect their franchise QB.
