Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said QB Tua Tagovailoa (back/ankle) is questionable for Week 4 against the Bengals.
“If this were an actual real practice in a normal week, Tua would be limited and he would be questionable for the game,” McDaniel told reporters. “If he doesn’t play, it was not possible.” If Tagovailoa indeed is ruled out, Teddy Bridgewater would pick up the spot start against Cincinnati on Thursday Night Football which is an obvious hit to both Dolphins pass catchers Tyreek Hill & Jaylen Waddle.
The third-year quarterback apparently is doing everything in his power to play, including calling McDaniel at 10:50 last night. McDaniel is “optimistic” about Tagovailoa’s status for Thursday. Tagovailoa did meet with media on Tuesday, suggesting he’s on the right side of questionable.
The Dolphins have been one of the early surprises to the young NFL season starting the season 3-0. It’s the first time the Phins have won their first three games since 2018. Tua is currently fantasy’s #3 QB.
