Just like that we enter Week 6 in the NFL season. With a marquee running back breaking his leg on Sunday, there is one obvious target this week in Free Agency.

Kenneth Walker: 47.5% Owned

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters that RB Rashaad Penny (broken fibula) needs surgery and will miss the rest of the season. It was unfortunate, but expected news for Penny following pessimistic reports after he was carted off in Week 5.

Ken Walker relieved Penny and rushed eight times for 88 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks’ Week 5 loss to the Saints. The rookie’s day was highlighted by a 69-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter. In Penny’s four full games he averaged 13.2 touches per game and surpasses 13 touches in 3-of-4 of Seattle’s contents.

Walker is a must-own and presumably a strong start moving forward. He will likely take Penny’s bell-cow role on a Seattle offense that has been one of the league’s pleasant surprises so far. The second-round rookie profiles as a strong RB2 moving forward.

The Seahawks claimed RB Tony Jones off waivers from the Saints on Monday. Jones provides Seattle with some depth, but he shouldn’t challenge Ken Walker on early downs unless Pete Carroll implements a committee approach. DeeJay Dallas is in line to play on passing downs.
