NFL: San Francisco 49ers at Carolina Panthers
The Arizona Cardinals have acquired WR Robbie Anderson from the Carolina Panthers.
The Cardinals owe Robbie Anderson the remaining $690,000 prorated portion of his base salary after the trade.
Anderson was sent to the locker room before the start of the fourth quarter in Sunday’s game against the Rams by his own coaching staff. Fast-forward just a brisk morning later, and Anderson is no longer a part of the Carolina’s roster. The Panthers WR spoke to the media after the loss and voiced his displeasure with not playing on third down.
The Cardinals have been awful to begin the season and to make matter worse are now facing a potential multi-week injury from Marquise Brown, who was seen in a boot after Sunday’s game against Seattle.
Anderson should be able to serve as a deep threat, with DeAndre Hopkins returning from suspension in Week 7. He should be more productive in Arizona than in Carolina but the the former Temple Owl is running on fumes. He hasn’t been fantasy-relevant in what seems like eons now.
As for the Panthers? Better luck next season.
