Mike Williams told The Athletic that he has an ankle sprain.
Keenan Allen went on to tell reporters in the locker room that Williams had a high-ankle sprain, but said that tests haven’t completely confirmed if that’s true. If it is a high-ankle sprain, Williams is likely looking at an extended absence. He will have an MRI at some point later today. The 28-year old vowed “I’m gonna be back,” which sounds like he’s already prepared for some time off the field. The Chargers are on bye in Week 8.
It sounds like Keenan Allen, Josh Palmer, and Gerald Everett may all be looking at a surplus of targets. Despite an up-and-down season – Williams is fantasy’s WR9 through 7 weeks. It’s inevitably a tough loss for fantasy owners.
