It’s been a bumpy roller coaster for the 22-year-0ld wide receiver this season. On Sunday following the Jets 22-17 loss, Elijah Moore was asked about his chemistry with Zach Wilson, and said, “I don’t know. I don’t get the ball.”
He’s not wrong. The disgruntled receiver is averaging just 3.9 targets per game and hasn’t been targeted since Week 6. After demanding a trade ahead of the Jets’ matchup against the Broncos, Moore was inactive for Week 7 but returned in Week 8 to play just 10 snaps against the Patriots. Moore’s ranked fifth among Jets receivers in snaps, a game that saw Corey Davis sidelined with a knee injury. Not good.
Whether or not the Jets will grant Moore’s trade demands remains to be seen, but both sides seemingly are ready to move on from one another.
