Chargers coach Brandon Staley said Keenan Allen (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday, which marks consecutive missed practices for 30-year old after the teams bye.
Staley called him day to day and noted, “It hasn’t responded the way we have wanted.” Ouch.
Allen already suffered one setback with the hamstring issue, re-aggravating it in practice a few weeks ago. When he came back in Week 7, the Chargers limited him to just the first half. Based on coaches words, it’s fair to assume Allen suffered another setback.
Regardless of speculation, Allen’s Week 9 status is now in question. Even if active, it’s tough to have any faith in him as a fantasy option right now. With Mike Williams also out because of a knee issue, Josh Palmer and DeAndre Carter become intriguing starts vs. an embarrassing Falcons secondary.
