MLB: Cincinnati Reds at Chicago Cubs
The Dodgers signed Jason Heyward to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Heyward was released by the Cubs about a month ago, with $22 million remaining on a eight-year, $184 million deal that he signed with Chicago back in 2016.
The 33-year-old has been non existent over the last two seasons hitting just .211 over 504 plate appearances. On top of that, his defense, which has been his saving grace (five gold gloves,) has also fallen off considerably.
The Dodgers will try to revitalize the 14-year-veteran, but his track recent record suggest that is nothing more than a pipe dream.
