MANHATTAN — — The New York Knicks grabbed their second Eastern Conference win of the week after dismantling the Hawks 113-89 at the Garden Wednesday evening.

Julius Randle led the pack with a double-double going 6-12 from three on 34 points while grabbing 17 rebounds.  Without this unbelievable effort under the rim for Randle, New York would have been outrebounded.  Instead they outnumbered them in this category 55-39.

For the young guys, Quentin Grimes represented the Knicks, handsomely scoring 23 points on 5-7 from behind the arc.  Despite a poor shooting performance from the field for Immanuel Quickley, he managed to contribute eight points to the rolling Knicks offense.

Trae Young struggled from downtown for Atlanta going 0-4 but understood that he could get it done from the field to lead his team in scoring with 19.  This was the overall theme for the Hawks, considering their sub 20% shooting performance from three nailing just 6-36.

All-Star guard Dejounte Murray being pulled from the game early with an ankle injury did little to help out their struggling offense.  The only Hawks player to score in double figures aside from young was 21-year-old Onyeka Okonguwu with just ten.

The Knicks now occupy the number nine slot in the Eastern Conference rankings, looking to secure the play in opportunity they were barred from in the 2021-22 NBA season.
