Speaking publicly for the first time since the Packers loss to the Lions last Sunday night, Aaron Rodgers said “I’m not mentally or emotionally at that point to give one” when asked about his decision on playing in 2023.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers said he doesn’t know if that right situation is in Green Bay with the Packers or with another team, but added he can’t shut down any opportunity.

Rodgers met with the team last week. The four-time MVP is still deciding his future. He said he thinks he can still play at an MVP level and doesn’t want to be a part of a rebuild in Green Bay.

The 39-year-old took a surplus of time after the 2021 season before announcing a comeback to the Packers and it looks like a painfully similar situation a year later.

His decision to return or retire will be arguably the biggest headline of the NFL offseason, alongside Tom Brady.

Rodgers had a down season (for his standards), throwing double-digit interceptions for the first time since 2010, parlayed with a career low touchdown-rate.
