MLB: Spring Training-New York Mets Workouts
Many are expecting a big Mets season, and in turn, that means everyone is put on notice.
Daniel Vogelbach is the latest.
The 30-year-old recently revealed he dropped at least 20-25 pounds this offseason. Vogelbach, acquired at the trade deadline last season, was listed at 270 pounds a year ago.
“I’m ready for a season, a little different coming into a clubhouse this year where everybody’s expectations are high,” said Vogelbach to the New York Post. “…and just trying to make sure that I’m ready to do my part to contribute.”

“Obviously watching what I eat, but just working out and doing my routine,” the 30-year-old said with a big smile. “I wasn’t really focused on one particular thing. Just coming in and making sure that I was in shape and ready to play from Day 1. I just feel good.”
Nevertheless, the Amazins picked up his 1.5 million dollar option for his .255/.393/.436 stat line in 55 games with the team. He also racked up six home runs and 25 RBIs.
Vogelbach begins camp as the team’s primary left-handed DH.
