One highly-touted college quarterback is looking to steal the job of Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.
USC sophomore quarterback Caleb Williams told People Magazine that the Dolphins are his top team of choice if he decided to enter the draft next year.
“I like to be around younger coaches,” Williams said to the magazine. “I also would be able to play with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Mike Gesicki. The defense isn’t bad. That’s probably my number one spot.”
Tyreek Hill seems to be among those who took note of Williams’ words. The All-Pro WR liked a tweet published by “Dolphins Nation,” that broke the news of the USC QB being intrigued with Miami.
Despite Hills stamp of approval, Williams’ Mahomes-like play and Heisman-winning season this past year, it is absolutely inconceivable that he’d land in Miami.
This is the same Dolphins team that lost their 2023 first-round pick (and a third) for tampering with future hall-of-famer Tom Brady and current Broncos head coach Sean Payton. But Miami did have two first-rounders in this year’s draft, the second of which was sent to Denver for Bradley Chubb.
The bottom line is Miami is in no prime position to draft the next athletic freak at the quarterback position.
The team is in a position to move on from Tua Tagovailoa at the end of next season if his injury issues don’t improve. Especially with Miami showing promises of being a threat in the AFC before his multiple concussions.
