(New York, NY) — Bronny James is better than your favorite NBA player.

At least that’s what LeBron James, Bronny’s father, says. The four-time NBA Champion is currently nursing a foot injury, but his fingers still work.

“Man Bronny is definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today,” James said in a tweet yesterday. “S–t lightweight hilarious.”

James is probably both serious (and biased) about his stance on his son. Bronny isn’t draft-eligible until 2024. The 18-year-old is currently ranked 28 in the ESPN 100. He’s currently weighing offers from Oregon, Ohio State, and USC as a four-star prospect.

Although it is unclear which players James was talking about as being worse than Bronny, one is right to be skeptical about how his talents would translate to the league now.

You don’t need a breakdown of Bronny’s strengths and weaknesses to decide whether or not Bronny’s game translates to the NBA.

He is currently playing against people who have math class hours before their matchups. And even then, Bronny is averaging 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists. One would think an NBA-ready talent would be dominating high school athletes. But, that has yet to be seen.

LeBron James may be bored with his injury keeping him out of action. In this case, boredom is breeding some of the craziest statements you’ll see this season.
