NFL: NFC Divisional Round-New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
To be trash or not to be trash. The famous Shakespeare line currently faces newly-extended Giants QB Daniel Jones.
Chicago Bears safety Jaquan Brisker had a lot to say when speaking on Lamar Jackson’s lack of a contract extension. “MVP lol…other bruh [Daniel Jones] got paid today and is trash fam,” Brisker tweeted out in response to someone calling it a shame Jackson isn’t signed.
The other guy, in this case, was Daniel Jones who agreed to a four-year, 160-million-dollar extension with the Giants.
Brisker clearly didn’t take the news too well. Especially as a safety, the mark of a great quarterback is his ability to take the top off a defense.
Daniel Jones happens to be the most conservative quarterback in the NFL. According to PFF, Jones only had seven “big-time throws” this past season. That is not exactly indicative of a big-money quarterback.
But like all athletes, there are teammates who come to your defense. “Nobody more deserving congrats brudda,” said Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton in response to the news. But in response to Jaquan Brisker’s “trash” comments, Slayton simply tweeted out the 20-12 win that New York took over Chicago back on October 2nd, a game where Slayton had one catch and Jones had two rushing touchdowns.
Lots of pettiness in the NFL. Unfortunately, Chicago won’t be playing New York next season. But there’s always the NFC Championship.
