( New York, NY) — Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is gearing up for workouts in front of NFL scouts, but maybe he doesn’t need to impress them so much as he needs to impress other players.
New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner shared a photo of a FaceTime with OBJ on Twitter, and made it clear that he’s a de facto recruiter.
“Being the #1 recruiter in America is stressful…” Gardner wrote in the tweet. The exact details of their conversation are a mystery but it’s safe to say that Gardner made his pitch.

Gardner has also been outspoken on Twitch arguing why Aaron Rodgers should come to New York; it seems the Packers legend isn’t the only acquisition Gardner would like to see in green.
Beckham Jr. worked out in front of numerous teams–Jets included–shortly after the photo made the rounds. It’s a huge opportunity for the one-time Super Bowl champion to earn himself a new NFL contract.
OBJ didn’t suit up in 2022 because of injury, though reports say he’s back to 100%. Whether OBJ still has the explosiveness he’s shown in the past is an open question until he can display it on the gridiron. If he’s got some juice left, he would make a dynamic pairing with Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson.
