Mitchell Robinson Blasts Knicks on Social Media

(New York, NY) — The Knicks won their second game in a row Tuesday night, concluding their West Coast road trip with a 123-107 over the Portland Trailblazers.

All smiles right? Wrong.

Knicks starting center Mitchell Robinson took to Instagram to complain about his role in the team’s offense.  “Tired asf of just being out there for cardio fam like I want to play basketball to really just wasting my time and energy,” Robinson said in a snapchat post. “…disappearing for a while.”  Both posts were deleted shortly after.

After playing just 21 minutes and taking two field-goal attempts, it’s easy to see why Robinson would be frustrated.  Backup center Isaiah Hartenstein played 27 minutes and also only took two shots but was more involved in the offense, dishing out four assists.

Considering the Knicks picked up an important late-season win, it’s concerning to see players voicing their displeasures on social media for the world to see.  Perhaps the former 36th overall draft pick should know his role – and that is to serve as the teams defensive anchor.

According to NBA.com, Robinson has made just two shots outside the paint in his career.

It remains to be seen how New York’s coaching staff will address the matter.  With 11 games remaining in the 2022-23 regular season, the Knicks must thrive on being on the same page. Otherwise, an early vacation could be in store for Robinson and the rest of the team.
