(New York, NY) — Ezekiel Elliott has narrowed his prefered landing sports down to three teams.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the free agent running back options are down to the Eagles, Jets, and Bengals. Elliott, 27, says he would like to make his decision by the end of next week, sources told Schefter.

Elliot was released by the Cowboys on March 15 after seven seasons with the team.

On Thursday, Elliott tweeted: “I want my #15 back,” referring to the number he wore at Ohio State. He wore No. 21 with Cowboys.

Cincinnati would probably profile as Elliott’s best landing spot  — assuming they’d move on from Joe Mixon, who’s had countless run-ins with the law over the past three months.

While signing with the Eagles would be amusing (faces Cowboys 2x,) he would figure to split touches with newly acquired Rashaad Penny.

As for the Jets, their situation is murky. Breece Hall, who excelled last season in limited action, is working with way back from an ACL tear. The team has yet to provide a concrete update on how much time, if any, he could miss. New York also just re-signed complementary back Ty Johnson on Thursday and already have Zonovan Knight on the roster.

Regardless, it’s surprising there’s this much interest in Elliott coming off a turmutolous 2022 season.
