(New York, NY) — Just hours after losing Devin Singletary to the Texas, the Bills agreed to terms with Damien Harris. The former Patriot running back projects to become the starter this year, but GM Brandon Beane pleaded the team is still looking to add to the position.
He wasn’t lying.
The Bills hosted free agent RB Latavius Murray for a visit on Wednesday, per reports from KPRC2 in Houston.
The 33-year-old began the 2022 season on the Saints’ practice squad but was eventually signed by the Broncos after they dealt with a surplus of injuries. He was first active for Denver Week 6 and went on to average 13 carries for 59 yards per week. The veteran half back topped 100 yards twice in his final four games, finishing the season with 707 yards (4.4 yards per carry.)
Both the carry and rushing totals were his highest since 2017.
Still a capable backup, Murray would be a solid depth option for the Bills, who also have James Cook and Nyheim Hines on the active roster.
Should Buffalo follow through, they would have a crowded backfield, but in the spirit of keeping Josh Allen out of harm’s way as much, you can never have too many impactful players.
