(New York, NY) — The Ravens appear to be operating under the assumption that quarterback Lamar Jackson will be under center for them in 2023.
ESPN’s Dan Graziano sees a path where Baltimore trades up in Thursday’s NFL Draft to draft Texas running back Bijan Robinson, putting in place a potentially lethal rushing attack of Jackson, J.K. Dobbins, and Robinson.
“Baltimore is focused on adding playmakers in an attempt to show Lamar Jackson it’s serious about bringing him back and building a better offense around him,” Graziano says.
Despite the Ravens’ possible interest, Robinson still remains the number two back in the draft to some. Rumors have circulated that Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs could be the first running back to hear his name called. If the Ravens want to pursue either, they would likely have to trade into the top 10 to make it happen
Among the seven running backs drafted in the first round since 2017, Christian McCaffrey is the only one that has signed a multiyear extension with the same team.
Still, if Baltimore chose the Gibbs route instead, he would be going into a situation with J.K. Dobbins who averaged seven yards per carry in the final month of the regular season.
If you are preparing for fantasy football, bet on Robinson and Gibbs to be among the top-15 picks in dynasty redraft leagues.
