(New York, NY) — After reports of Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud slipping on draft boards, the same could be said for Kentucky QB Will Levis.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, NFL teams were left with questions about Levis’ personality, so much so that Levis may not even go top-5 come Thursday’s draft.
Breer’s projections have Stroud as the fourth overall pick to the Colts with Levis freefalling all the way to 12 for the Texans. Among the teams that were alarmed by Levis’ personality, Indianapolis were less pressed following their meeting with him.
With draft night a day away, it’s hard to believe what teams are thinking, especially since recent Levis discourse has also included him going number one overall to the Panthers.
Levis freefalling in the draft is just Brewer’s take on the situation. According to longtime Texans beat writer John McClain, Levis will also be a Texan, just by the second overall pick.
“They know what they’re going to do, they’ve just put a tight lid on it,” McClain said. “I just can’t believe [Texans general manager] Nick Caserio would pass up on a quarterback to take an edge rusher.”
Welcome to draft week, where one expert has Levis falling and another has Levis as the second pick in the draft.
If the latter does happen, chaos may ensue in Indianapolis, with the team being speculated to trade up to get their guy at quarterback.
