(New York, NY) — Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz has turned himself in to police in New Orleans for an alleged brawl on Bourbon Street.

The 38-year-old turned himself over to police in the early hours of Thursday morning and was held in jail after an arrest warrant was issued Monday. He faces battery charges for allegedly choking a man unconscious. The fight was caught on cell phone camera and spread on social media.

The altercation was allegedly with Logan Paul impersonator Rodney Peterson. Diaz put him in a guillotine choke, and when he released it, Peterson fell and hit his head on the concrete. He required aid from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for the head injury he suffered as a result of the incident.

If found guilty, Diaz faces up to eight years in prison.

His lawyer – Zach Rosenfield – confirmed his client was granted and posted a $10,000 bond.

“Bond has been granted and posted with the full permission from the court to resume travel which  includes returning to Stockton today,” said Rosenfield. “We appreciate how we were treated by the New Orleans Police Department, the court and their staff.”

Diaz is scheduled to box YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul (brother of Logan) in an eight-rounder on Aug. 5 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
