(New York, NY) – After getting out to a 29-7 start, the Tampa Bay Rays are the talk of MLB.

The club’s been solid for years despite a meager payroll and sparse attendance, but appears to be taking things to a new level so far this year. After taking 2 out of 3 from the Yankees last weekend, the Rays lead the AL East by 6.5 games, with a home record of 19-3.

That has caught the attention of New York radio host Evan Roberts. During his show with Craig Carton on WFAN, Roberts said he doesn’t need to wait for an article in The Athletic to make an observation.

He appeared to be suggesting the Rays are cheating, perhaps through some kind of sign-stealing operation, such as what the Houston Astros allegedly used several seasons back.

Roberts, along with a nodding Carton, pointed out the Rays have a bunch of players outperforming “the back of their baseball card.”

A die hard Mets fan, Roberts also argued his stance results from being a long time observer of baseball – saying he knows these players, and something is fishy.
