(New York, NY) – As the NFL gets set for life in the post Tom Brady era, the New England Patriots are preparing to honor the legend in Foxboro.
Appearing on NFL Network Thursday morning, team owner Robert Kraft says he personally invited Brady to the ceremony. While Brady finished his career in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers, Patriots fans will be eager to celebrate the G.O.A.T.’s career.
Kraft explained that while the NFL is over 100 years old, 20-percent of those seasons passed with Brady playing QB for the Patriots. New England’s team chairman and CEO, Kraft called Brady “the greatest player in the history of the game.”
Despite Brady’s departure, he and Kraft have stayed close friends. He was one of a number of former Patriots greats that came to Kraft’s surprise wedding in October 2022.
Brady being honored at an NFL game is a pretty good indication that he’s going to stay retired this time, unlike last year when he changed his mind after two months and returned to the NFL.
The 45-year-old decided to retire this past offseason following 23 seasons in the league. He led the Patriots to six Super Bowl titles.
