(New York, NY) — The Yankees have been on a roll, most recently taking two of three from the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, the series was bitter sweet as the team fears star Aaron Judge may have suffered a broken toe.

“It’s tough to say,” Judge told reporters Sunday night. “I’ve never broken a toe, so we’ll see. We’ll see what the tests say. I don’t want to throw anything out there just yet.”

The injury took place on Saturday in the eighth inning of a 5-3 ballgame, when JD Martinez sent a line drive to right field gap.  The slugger went crashing into the right field fence that caused the gates of the fence to open while completing the terrific grab.

“If I’m on it, I’m on it. But I’m trying not to be. Who knows? I’ve got no answers yet. I’m hoping today and [Monday] having a little bit of rest, we’ll be good to go hopefully on Tuesday. But we’ll take it day-to-day right now.”

The captain was held out of the lineup for Sunday’s 4-1 rubber match victory. Judge told reporters that tests would be needed to determine if the toe was indeed broken. The 31-year-old is expected to undergo imaging on his toe Monday.
