(New York, NY) — The New York Yankees began a three-game series against the NL West leading LA Dodgers starting last Friday.

Game 1 marked the return of 3B Josh Donaldson and OF Giancarlo Stanton. The two combined for 3 home runs (Donaldson in the 2nd and 9th innings, Stanton in the 4th). Unfortunately for the Yankees, it would be a rough outing for Luis Severino who gave up seven runs, including to a man known all too well in Mookie Betts who went deep twice, which resulted in an 8-4 win for Los Angeles.

The Bombers bounced back on Saturday afternoon as Jake Bauers had two big blasts in his first two plate appearances to put the Yankees ahead 4-1. Aaron Judge found the left field bleachers for his AL leading 19th home run of the season. The Captain also made a spectacular play in right field, running through a fence to make an out in the 8th inning. Oswaldo Cabrera added a solo-shot in his first at-bat back from injury to seal a 6-3 win and tie things up.

Starters Domingo German (NYY) and Bobby Miller (LAD) both had spectacular outings as the series finale stayed scoreless until the 7th inning. Higashioka and Cabrera each gave the Yankees the lead on respective RBI groundouts in the 7th and 8th innings. Anthony Volpe homered for two more in the 9th and Wandy Peralta recorded his 4th save of the season as the Yankees took two out of three.
