(New York, NY) — The New York Jets signed veteran safety Adrian Amos to a one-year contract with the worth up to $4 million, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Amos started every game for the Green Bay Packers over the past four years. He posted a career-high 102 tackles in 2022, and added one interception, five passes defended and one fumble recovery.

The 30-year-old defensive back still has some good years as an NFL player. There’s something to be said for his dependability; he has missed only four games since entering the league in 2015.

Amos joins Jordan Whitehead and Chuck Clark as veteran paid safeties in New York. It doesn’t say much for what the Jets think of their in-house depth at the position, but Amos should be of value in the back.

Prior to joining the Packers, Amos spent four seasons with the Bears.

More than anything, Amos will remain on the same team as Aaron Rodgers. Other former Packers who have followed Rodgers to the Jets include wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, quarterback Tim Boyle and offensive tackle Billy Turner.
