NFL: Super Bowl LIII-Opening Night
(Boston, Massachusetts) — Once you are teammates with Julian Edelman, he has your back for life.
The former New England Patriot is sick of the “fake news” regarding how unserious former teammate Rob Gronkowski tended to be during his playing days
“Story is BS. Everyone wants to paint Gronk as a party animal,” Edelman tweeted. “When in reality he was one of the most dedicated teammates I had.”
The tweet was in response to former Patriots defensive end Jake Bequette recalling times when Gronk would get wasted before game days.
Bequette told Blaze TV’s “Prime Time with Alex Stein” that Gronkowski would also need assistance going to the team facility where he’d sleep on one of the training tables.
“So then, like an hour or two later, when the trainers would come in to start their workday, they’d come in there and see Gronk just sprawled out on the training table, just fast asleep,” Bequette said.
“They would go over there, they wouldn’t wake him up, they would roll up one of his sleeves and, you know, stick an IV in his arm.”
Both sides have their perception of the type of player Gronkowski was. But the fact remains that Gronkowski is one of if not the greatest tight end of all-time, with four Super Bowl rings to prove for it.
Not to mention, he was the go-to target for the greatest quarterback of all-time, Tom Brady.
