NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Arizona Cardinals
(Miami, Florida) — Leonard Fournette was living life in the fast lane.
The free agent running back was driving at high speeds and racing a motorcyclist prior to his car catching on fire on a Hillsborough County highway on June 27th, according to a new police report obtained by TMZ Sports.
The report also says a witness told them Fournette was driving northbound on I-275 when Fournette passed him in a black Dodge Durango moving at high speeds.
“…he observed the vehicle and [a] motorcycle to be racing and changing lanes,” the report said. The witness was also said to be in view “when fire then erupted from the bottom of” Fournette’s vehicle.
Fournette, however, told a much different story to cops . According to a police report, officers say the NFL star “stated he has been having problems with the vehicle as of late,” before it erupted in flames.
The running back took to Instagram to post a video of his destroyed car with the caption “Man it was one of those days today, but I would like to thank God, my car caught on fire while I was driving, But I am still blessed.”
Ever since the report though, Fournette has been tight lipped.
The report went on to state that no further investigation was conducted by police and that Fournette isn’t expected to face any type of charges.
