(New York, NY) – Aaron Hernandez’ older brother Dennis “D.J.” Hernandez is under arrest, after authorities accused him of planning school shootings at UCONN and Brown University.
The Connecticut native was allegedly acting erratically and sending threatening text messages, prompting people to contact the Bristol Police Department.
According to TMZ, who reviewed relevant documents, allegations first came in earlier this month, amid claims that the elder Hernandez had messaged “we’re taking lives if s*** isn’t paid up. It’s been years in planning just taking notes, names and locations. They talked their way into this and it’s almost point game.” Cops have since said they’ve observed signs that Hernandez is “gravely disabled and a danger to society.”
Reports say that when cops visited a home where Hernandez was staying last week, a police standoff ensued. Hernandez allegedly yelled “shoot me” several times. He was eventually taken into custody and hospitalized, then booked at the Bristol Police Department.
TMZ reports that Hernandez continued making threats while receiving treatment at the hospital, specifically naming “anyone who profited off his brother Aaron.”
It’s been a troubling few months for Dennis Hernandez, as he was involved in a car chase and allegedly threw a brick and handwritten note at ESPN’s campus.
Back in 2017, Aaron Hernandez committed suicide while in prison, having been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2013 death of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player that had been dating the sister of the ex-football player’s fiancée.
