(BUFFALO, NY) — Von Miller (knee) was placed on the active/PUP list Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Miller has made encouraging progress after tearing his ACL on Thanksgiving last year, but still won’t be ready for practices for the start of camp.

The future hall-of-famer believed he’d avoid the PUP list, however, that’s not the case, and Miller will now be sidelined until he passes a physical.

“The plan is to practice,” Miller said about training camp in June. “Get some practice reps, so I can be ready to for Week 1.”

The Athletic’s Joe Buscaglia said back in May that Miller was “in jeopardy” of missing the start of the season.

The first time Miller tore his ACL, on Dec. 22, 2013, he returned for the Broncos’ season opener on Sept. 7, 2014.

In addition, the Bills placed linebacker Tyler Matakevich and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips on the PUP list. All players are eligible to come off at any time.

Buffalo begin training camp practices Wednesday morning.
