NFL: NFC Wild Card Round-New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings
(Florham Park, NJ) – Free agent running back Dalvin Cook says the odds of him signing with the New York Jets are “pretty high,” as he completes a weekend visit with the team.
After being released by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this offseason, Cook has attracted plenty of interest.
In fact, ESPN has reported all of the AFC East’s squads have reached out. After word broke Cook was visiting New York City, a rumor indicated the rival New England Patriots were also angling for a meeting.
But for now, it could be New York’s derby to lose. Cook appeared on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football and said despite his prediction, he’s taking it all “one step at a time.”
From a purely roster and cap space perspective, Cook could make sense for Gang Green. Presumed starting running back Breece Hall is working his way back from knee surgery and could be looking at a reduced workload.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers restructured his contract this week, freeing up cap space for New York.
