NEW YORK — The Jets worst nightmare just came true.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles and is out for the season. Just four snaps into his tenure with the team, Rodgers ruptured his Achilles tendon and won’t play another snap for the rest of the year.

Jets coach Robert Saleh said after the game the team feared it was Rodgers’ Achilles and the tests Tuesday confirmed that.
“Prayers tonight, but it’s not good,” Saleh admitted to reporters after the game. “My heart’s with Aaron right now and no one else.”
It is a stunning end to Rodgers’ season after months of anticipation. At 39, it’s fair to question if Rodgers will ever play again.

Pelissero adds the Jets are “unlikely” to acquire a veteran quarterback, meaning Zach Wilson will be under center for the foreseeable future.
Expect the Jets to be among the NFL’s run heaviest teams as they do anything and everything to hide Zach Wilson. The 24-year-old attempted one pass over 15 yards in Week 1 – the least amongst all starting quarterbacks.
Wilson and the Jets travel to Dallas this upcoming Sunday.
