NEW YORK — Saquon Barkley is taking an important step in his return to the lineup.
He’s practicing.
Speaking to the media Thursday morning head coach Brian Daboll said “everybody will practice.” That includes RB Saquon Barkley. He will do some individual drills, move around.

“We’re going to let him run around and see how he does,” head coach Brian Daboll said. “Making progress. I think this is a good evaluation today in pads to see where he is at.”
It would be a massive boost to the entire offense if Barkley could return. The Giants only ran the ball 11 times – their lowest single-game total since 1989 – last week against the 49ers while their start running back watched from the sideline.
Barkley, who suffered a high ankle sprain late in the Giants’ Week 2 win at Arizona, will likely be listed as limited by the injury that kept him out of last Thursday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. The official injury report will be released later this afternoon.

The last time Barkley dealt with a high ankle sprain in 2019, he sat out three games and he wasn’t very effective in his return, rushing for just 2.5 yards per carry over his next four games.
“There is a chance that he is able to get on the field Monday night against the Seahawks,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport said. “The Giants have a lot of time. . . He’s got a little extra time to get on the field against the Seahawks. And there is at least a shot (that) he’s able to do it.”
