CHICAGO — The drama is finally over.
The Bears traded WR Chase Claypool to the Dolphins in exchange for a 2025 sixth-round draft pick. Miami will also get a 2025 seventh rounder from the Bears.

The writing was on the wall, for Claypool who was a healthy scratch for the past couple weeks after he had persistent on-field effort issues in September.
Chicago’s 2022 acquisition of Claypool goes down as one of the worst in recent NFL history, with the Bears parting with a second round draft pick. The wide receiver who showed promise early in his career with the Steelers (topped 800 yards first two seasons) finished with 18 catches in ten games with the Bears.

A league source said Claypool needs hard coaching. He needs to be someone where there’s “a thumb on him” because he will exhaust a team’s resources.
In Miami, it’s hard to envision Claypool, 25, getting any serious playing time. He’ll merely add some depth, but at 6-foot-4, brings size to the Dolphins’ wide receiver corps.
