NEW YORK — Phillies starting pitcher Taijuan Walker is not happy.
Walker, who signed a four-year deal worth $72 million with the Phillies during this past offseason expressed his frustrations on social media after he didn’t throw a single pitch during Philadelphia’s postseason run.
“Disrespect is at an all-time high #nextyear,” Walker tweeted roughly three hours after the Phillies were upset by the Diamondbacks.
Walker also liked a number of posts from fans who replied to his original message.
The first post read, “The disrespect is from your manager. He had no faith in you, which was a joke and his game decision the Phillies this series. REMEMBER THAT!”
And the second: “To me, you not pitching in the postseason was the true disrespect. Thank you for supporting your teammates.”
The 31-year-old led Philadelphia with a 15-6 regular season record. He posted a 4.38 ERA in 172 2/3 innings of work.
For now? Walker has plenty of time to recoup with his manager ahead of the 2024 season
