ARIZONA — The Arizona Cardinals are activating Kyler Murray from the physically unable to perform list.
Cardinals coach Jonathan Gannon said on Monday the team is expecting their franchise quarterback to return Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons.
“The plan for quarterback this week: Kyler is going to continue to ramp up,” Gannon said. “He’ll take the one reps, and if the week goes well, he will start on Sunday. Pleased with where he is right now. We’ll see how the week goes.”
Murray has not played in 329 days since tearing the ACL in his knee against the Patriots.
Rookie fifth-round pick Clayton Tune made his first NFL start Sunday, and played predictably awful as the Cardinals were blanked by the Browns 27-0.
Arizona hold two first-round picks in the 2024 draft, so, at 1-8, it’s interesting to rush the 26-year-old back.
