(Kansas City, MO) – Travis Kelce is expressing his disappointment after his Kansas City Chiefs fell short in this week’s Super Bowl rematch.

Having lost to his brother’s team the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis joined Jason Kelce on their “New Heights” podcast and specifically called himself out for fumbling during the Monday Night Football loss: “Obviously my turnover, turnovers are killing us, penalties are absolutely killing us. I had one of both, I had a holding penalty and a drop and a fumble. I’m not playing my best football right now. It’s pissing me off every f–king time I go out there.”

Kelce did manage to score as part of the 21 to 17 losing effort. It barely registered in the star tight end’s memory as he went over the game in his mind: “I scored? I did score,” Travis said when seemingly alerted by podcast personnel. “It’s about the only good thing I f–king did all night.”

It’s fair to say that Kelce’s night went downhill after he reached the end zone. He had the fumble in the red zone toward the start of the fourth quarter, and a key third-down dropped pass just prior to the two-minute warning. Kelce’s stat line was not as impressive as it typically is, as he hauled in seven catches for 44 yards – along with the TD.

The man who is known to many around the world as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is trying to “shake it off,” and admitted in his post-game comments that he’s “got to be better. Just not playing up to the level that I have in the past, I got to be better.”

But addressing the overall team psyche, Kelce didn’t seem concerned during his podcast appearance. “Nobody’s pointing fingers … guys are getting fired up, they want to be successful, I’m one of them, but we’re still a tight-knit group. And as long as you’ve got that, you’ve got a fighting chance.” He also noted the locker room’s camaraderie is strong: “As a unit, we’re still together and that’s all that f–king matters.”

And while losing the Super Bowl rematch hurts, and Kelce can likely barely stand ever losing to his older brother, but he’s looking toward to the rest of the season with confidence: “We’re 7-3… we still control our destiny with the teams that we play in terms of getting the one seed and we’re just going to keep coming to work every day. To Chiefs Kingdom, sorry that we didn’t show our best football out there in the second half, specifically, but I’ll tell you what, man, you’ve got a lot of guys in that locker room that give a damn. We’ll get it fixed.”
