NFL: AFC Divisional Round-Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills
KANSAS CITY — There’s fame, and there’s Taylor Swift fame.
And Patrick Mahomes Sr. is learning those are two very different things.
The former major league baseball player, who is the father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has found himself at the center of drama surrounding Swift. A place nobody wants to be.

Mahomes Sr. broke the internet (we thought) during the Chiefs’ 27-24 win against the Bills after a video showed a man staring distastefully at Swift and Brittany Mahomes as they celebrated Kansas City taking the lead in the third quarter.
“Well you know what’s crazy? The people thought that was me and that wasn’t me,” Mahomes Sr. said on a Friday appearance on WFAN. “I was actually two booths down, but soon as he [Jason Kelce] started doing that [going shirtless] I was looking down and I saw.”
“I’ve been in the booth with Taylor before and she was very nice and genuine and everything. I went over there and hung out with them a little bit after the game, after we had won … and said hi and all that.”

When asked if he’ll be “in the suite with the crazies” at the Chiefs-Ravens AFC Championship game in Baltimore on Sunday, Mahomes Sr., responded “I hope not.”
After Mahomes Sr. suggested he’d rather avoid the “Swiftie” experience while watching his son play, the internet trolls brought out their pitch forks. But it looks they “need to calm down,” as Taylor would say.
Of course, at first it was hard to tell if he was joking, but Mahomes Sr. eventually elaborated further.
“Nah, I don’t think. Travis normally has his own thing and Patrick has his own deal too.…I imagine if Taylor wants her own suite, she’s got enough money to get whichever one she wants.”
So to make a long story short, Patrick Mahomes Sr. lives to see another day.
