KANSAS CITY — The family of Patrick Mahomes is once again causing distractions.

And this time it’s not Jackson or Brittany. It’s Patrick Mahomes Sr – an he’s in hot water.

The former Major League Baseball player and father of Chiefs quarterback, was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Saturday in Texas – his third DUI arrest in three years.

Details from his arrest are not immediately clear, but it could land Mahomes Sr. behind bards for “numerous” years. For now, he was released on Sunday afternoon, per ESPN, on a third-degree felony charge that carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison if he is convicted, according to state law.

Jail records indicate Mahomes’ last arrest for DWI came in 2019 when he was sentenced to 40 days in jail, which he served on weekends.

The arrest is just another distraction for a family that’s no stranger in the headlines.
