(Las Vegas, NV) – If you leave the sauce on the stove top for too long, it can get burned.

And when Sauce Gardner ventures into social media, some may look to turn up the heat. That was certainly true after the Super Bowl, when Gardner made it clear he wasn’t overly impressed with the San Francisco 49ers. The standout corner said he felt the 49ers “might look better on paper,” but that the Chiefs always “find a way.”

That comment was seen by 49ers corner Charvarius ward, and he wasn’t pleased. “Boy [your] ass ain’t never sniffed the playoffs,” Ward said in a quote tweet has since been deleted. “You watching from the couch. Worry bout the sorry ass JETS. Everybody got something to say about the team in the Super Bowl. Your opinion doesn’t need to be heard kid.”

Ward was clearly feeling all kinds of negative emotions as he also responded to a Chiefs fan and blasted the person for acting like they had a hand in KC’s win, as opposed to just being an observer. The 49er later deleted that tweet as well and now has “All Praise to GOD. Still blessed. Thankful for my life & who I am,” as his most recent message.

As for Gardner, he likely forgot about the tweet almost as soon as he sent it. There’s no shortage of criticism coming the 49ers way, both in terms of how the team blew an early lead, and head coach Kyle Shanahan’s decision not to defer possession in overtime. It’s now officially the offseason, the Chiefs are defending champs (again) and the 49ers and Jets are among the squads now once again coming for the crown.
