MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers at San Diego Padres
(New York, NY) – It’s the middle of May, a time when most MLB teams could use some extra arms. Whether it’s players struggling or underperforming, injury, or just a series of games on consecutive days – pitching depth is seemingly never deep enough.
So why is a former Cy Young winner who’s just 33 years old out of MLB? When it comes to Trevor Bauer, that depends on who you ask.
Bauer’s story is well documented at this point. He was accused of engaging in rough sex by a woman when he was playing for the LA Dodgers – and her allegations were that it went beyond consensual relations leading to her being assaulted.
That woman – Lindsey Hill – has maintained her side of the story despite both she and Bauer agreeing to drop any claims against each other. Bauer also once posted a lengthy video on social media alleging Hill was more or less a gold digger who hurled allegations his way in an attempt to make money.
Now, with Bauer more or less banished from MLB following a lengthy suspension, he’s pitching in the Mexican League. And he’s been doing well down there, posting his own stats on X: Through 30 innings he ranks first in ERA (1.50), second in wins (4) and first in strikeouts (47).
Underneath a video Bauer posted – which showed his first strikeout in the Mexican league – a fan commented that MLB teams could use him. Bauer responded:
“There’s not a single mlb team out there that has 3 starters better than me. Let alone 5. And I’m as cheap or cheaper than any of them since I’m willing to play for the minimum. And even though I have the support of players, coaches, fans, managers, and gms league wide, every time they go to the owner to sign me they’re told no. Makes you wonder who is telling all the owners not to sign me.”
That tweet apparently drew the attention of Hill – Bauer’s accuser. She then brought up further allegations about Bauer’s past – while including a screenshot of Bauer’s tweet.
Hill wrote:
“Since it blew up last night, it’s story time since the defamation continues: There is a woman named Alyssa, who as far as I know is still in a relationship with Trevor (or was during the MLB investigation). Trevor KNOCKED her teeth OUT, and we had an audio recording of her talking about it and how he paid for her new teeth. She knew the other Ohio woman who got a restraining order against him, which is how we got that story.”
It doesn’t seem as though Hill has provided evidence of those allegations publicly.
