East Rutherford, NJ) – The Houston Texans C.J. Stroud burst on the scene as a rookie. The QB wasn’t the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he played like it – and garnered MVP votes in the process. Now, emboldened by his new standing in the league, Stroud is speaking his mind.

In the process, Stroud celebrated one of the Tri-state area’s favorite sons. Speaking with the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Stroud was asked if he’d rather have Eli Manning’s career, or Aaron Rodgers’ career.

“You want the rings, dog, Eli got two,” Stroud responded. One of the podcast’s hosts insisted that’s all that matters – adding fans don’t celebrate MVPs.

Stroud’s controversial comments didn’t end there. He sort of seemed to throw more shade Rodgers’ way by comparing him to Matthew Stafford. Stroud suggested that if Stafford had played in Green Bay rather than Detroit, the Packers might have even more Lombardi trophies in the case.

“If you gave Matthew Stafford a chance like Aaron Rodgers had, I guarantee you he might have more rings for sure,” Stroud claimed.

After not being taken number 1 overall by Carolina, who instead picked Bryce Young, Stroud admitted he was “angry” with the Panthers as a result. But you can’t question the results so far for Stroud. Perhaps playing with that chip on his shoulder is a key to his early success.
