Tom Brady (12) of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers walks off the field during warmups at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA on October 16, 2022. Pittsburgh Steelers Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 6

(Foxborough, MA) – Tom Brady has the penultimate standard of a professional football player. 7 Super Bowl rings. 15 Pro Bowl selections. 3 MVP awards. The undisputed GOAT. Yet, he has some regrets.

Brady joined former NFL players Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder on “The Pivot Podcast.” When asked about how he was able to chase so much success, TB12 admitted that the so-called “Patriot-way” may have been a little destructive.

“What I would have changed was…you see these young players. I see, like Patrick [Mahomes] out there at quarterback, laughing, having fun…I’m like, I used to be like that! What the hell happened to me? I just got too serious.”

In all sports there is a “cost of winning,” and for Brady it was a tireless pursuit of winning for over two decades. He said that his approach was largely fueled by trying to fulfill the expectations he, as well as others had, and that the discipline was a way that helped him stay out of trouble.

While he was an ageless wonder winning through the twilight of his career, Brady knows he can’t turn back the clock. As he enters his broadcasting career, he is aiming to take the “next phase of life, [and] enjoy it a little more.”

Brady will make his NFL debut with Kevin Burkhardt in Week 1 in Cleveland when the Browns host the Dallas Cowboys on FOX. Fans and Brady alike are looking to see the more personable character that “Tampa Tom” showed flashes of after being the most revered athlete of the century.
