NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It’s been quite the week for the Football GOAT Tom Brady.
On Sunday Night Football, in front of the entire country, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were exposed on national television and lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 41-31. Two days later, Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bündchen broke the internet when the iconic couple publicly announced their split. Fast forward another day, and now Brady is nursing a finger and shoulder injury leaving his Week 5 status is in question.
Brady has been dealing with the finger issue for a while, and he appeared to hurt his throwing shoulder in the second quarter against the Chiefs. He played through the injury, however, throwing 51 passes. It would be a shock if he is not ready to face the Falcons on Sunday.
The 45-year old, 7-time Super Bowl Champion isn’t accustomed to many losses, but it seems of late, they are stacking up. The Buccaneers have dropped consecutive games and Brady’s age clearly is taking a toll on his play. His numbers across the board have dipped dramatically through four games suggesting the near is end for the best quarterback of all time.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this dance, though. When doubters count Tom out, typically, he’ll make them swallow their words. One can hope that is the case in 2022, at age 45, going through a nationally televised divorce. The Buccaneers will host the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday; the first game Tom Brady will play as a single man. Good for you, Tom.
