NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports free agent Odell Beckham (ACL) is still expected to remain sidelined until “mid-November.”
More reports say one of the main reasons Beckham remains unsigned is he was expecting “more of a Michael-Gallup situation” where the Cowboys still offered him a “big, multi-year deal” despite his torn ACL.
That seems like a pipe dream for Beckham. The soon-to-be 30-year-old wideout’s Super Bowl injury was not his first ACL issue. Frankly, Beckham hasn’t displayed any evidence that he will stay healthy for a full season – suggesting a multi-year contract is not in the cards.
For now the most likely landing spot appears to be Rams, as they are in desperate need of a pass catcher across from Cooper Kupp. The issue, it’s hard to envision them giving Beckham the deal he is requesting. If that’s the case, Beckham may lean towards a contender, like the Packers or Bills who have also both been linked to the three-time Pro Bowler
The problem for fantasy managers is that “mid-November” remains unclear and frankly, quite far away. Stash him if you have the bench spot but his outlook is murky moving forward.
