Reports have come in that Cam Akers (personal) will not play in his Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

“McVay says team is working through the situation, and he also declined to say whether he believes Akers will be a part of the team in the future,” said The Athletic reporter Jourdan Rodrigue.

Talk about a Friday Bomb Shell.

After a inauspiciously slow start to his season, it appears there are deeper issues in Los Angeles. Akers, a second-round draft pick in 2020, has struggled immensely in 2022 rushing for just three yards-per-carry on 51 attempts. The 23-year old entered the season with high aspirations as it was deemed he would be the lead back for the defending Super Bowl Champion Rams. That, however, has not been the case.

Darrell Henderson will regain a lot of his fantasy value this week, and potentially in the future as well, if Akers is out for an extended period of time.

This story will be heavily monitored over the weekend. The 2-3 Rams will host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
