NFL: New York Jets at Green Bay Packers
The New York Jets improved to 3-0 on the road this season for the first time since 2010 with a dominant 27-10 victory at Lambeau Field, despite the rain and the slippery terrain.
Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and his defense did exactly what they needed to do: they got pressure on Aaron Rodgers — 19 total pressures to be exact along with 12 QB hits. The defense put relentless pressure on Rodgers giving him zero time to work in the pocket. Rodgers was sacked four times and his offense was held to just three points in the first half.
Two of the four sacks came courtesy of defensive tackle Quinnen Williams. He had a monster game and was all over the field making plays, finishing with 5 total tackles, two of which were for a loss. Williams blocked a first quarter field goal try by the Packers and set the Jets up to cash in on a field goal of their own.
“Just like I always say the defense, the sky’s the limit for us if we execute and communicate,” said Williams. Just worry about communicating and executing and that’s the biggest thing we got to do each and every week.”
The Jets front seven played lights out against a very talented one-two Packers punch, holding both running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon to a total of 60 yards on the ground. Sheer dominance was displayed from the Jets’ defense in a game against a Hall of Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers.
“I thought our d-line was outstanding today, I thought our back end did a great job with communication with all their jet motions and all the different things they did,” Head Coach Robert Selah said after the win. “Especially on third down like I’ve been saying, if we can just have a good day on third down it would be emotional dominance and we made a commitment to stop the run today and we won on third down and that was a big deal for us.”

The Jets special teams played superb as they blocked both a field goal and a punt, the first time a team did both in one game since the Broncos back in 2018. The blocked punt was a scoop-and-score in the 3rd quarter by safety Will Parks to push the Jets’ lead up to 17-3 in the third quarter.
The true dagger for the New York Jets came from the man who yet again added to his Offensive Rookie of the Year resume in this game. Running back Breece Hall broke a 34-yard run to the end zone to put Gang Green up 24-10. Hall finished the day with 116 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown. The backfield finished the day with 182 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns. The second rushing score came from the speedy wide receiver Braxton Berrios on a 20-yard end around in the third quarter.
Quarterback Zach Wilson had himself another relatively quiet game but he did exactly what he needed to do and that was not turning the football over. Wilson went 10 for 18 with 110 yards and his offensive line seems to have found their groove as Wilson was only sacked twice.
The Jets improve to 4-2 on the season and will travel to Denver next Sunday to take on the Broncos in Denver at 4:05 PM Eastern.
