Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson reports the Chiefs are regarded as a “strong contender” to sign Odell Beckham.
Beckham is still recovering from torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl, but the expectation is a mid-November return. The Chiefs restructured Travis Kelce’s contract earlier this week, giving them an extra $3.5 million in cap space. That move subsequently sparked rumors Kansas City was looking to trade for Christian McCaffrey or bring in Beckham.
The Chiefs signed JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling this offseason in an effort to replace Tyreek Hill. The two have combed for a mere 628 yards and one touchdown. Hill alone has more yards and touchdowns than both.
While Beckham’s outlook is murky, the 29-year would give the Chiefs’ their desired Tyreek Hill replacement. The Bills, Rams, and Packers are still deemed in the mix for the Super Bowl Champion.
If Beckham can prove he’s healthy – he’ll have his choosing’s at the contender he pleases. From a fantasy perspective he’s a stash and a plug-and-play WR2 when healthy.
