NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings
With Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert both going down this week, the TE position once again looks as shallow as ever. Outside of Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews owners, fantasy players around the world likely are struggling at the TE position. Here are two players available in more than 60% of leagues that should be added immediately.
Cole Kmet
Get this, Cole Kmet is just two fantasy points shy of the TE6. Kmet has thrived over the three weeks, ironically enough, when Justin Fields has flourished. No TE in the NFL is playing more snaps than the 23-year-old this year and it’s finally translating into fantasy production. The former Notre Dame standout has finished as the TE1 in consecutive weeks. With the Justin Fields breakout in full force, his top pass catching TE will flirt with top 5 value the rest of season.
Foster Moreau
Moreau has played at least 96% of the Raiders snaps in Darren Wallers absence and is locked in as the #2 pass catcher for Derek Carr. With Waller, and Hunter Renfrow both out for AT LEAST the next three weeks, Moreau mathematically becomes a TE1, thanks to his elite opportunity. The snaps finally translated to production in week 10 when the tight end caught a TD pass and finished as the TE5. With the Raiders religiously playing from behind the 25-year-old is a strong start until further notice.
Zach Stoll (Eagles) and Trey McBride (Cardinals) subsequently step into the starting role for Goedert and Ertz but their fantasy outlooks are murky. They are both emergency options if owners miss out on the players listed above.
